In Chokkanalai village one child who had earlier dropped out due to failing in her 10th board exam, was brought under Nizharkudai umbrella. With the support of tutor, and with her effort and motivation, she successfully reappeared and cleared the 10th board examination.
Indigenous children's dropout rates have began to decline in comparison to previous years. The ongoing support and effort provided through this project had a big influence on the tribal communities. Among the 149 adopted children, 134 were academically successful. Parents are increasingly expressing interest in enrolling their kids in school and approaching our volunteers and staff for guidance and assistance in enrolling their kids.
Karupaiya is a village volunteer in the tribal residents of Chellong Colony. He is a young and dynamic individual who participates in the growth of his community and provides assistance to other tribal residents as needed. He made a lot of effort to guarantee that everyone attended school and pursued further education. He purchased an auto with a 35% subsidy under the supervision of ARUDECS through the KVIC-PMEGP income creation initiative, taking care of his family and making a contribution to the improvement of his community. Proactively organising to bring the children to school. He became an entrepreneur and made sure every youngster had an education.
Nizharkudai Foundation and ARUDENS have taken the responsibility to uplift the welfare of the tribal population beginning with fixing the fundamental issue of child education. With the help of our village volunteers, we were able to ensure at least 134 kids completed the academic year successfully. We also assisted with the college admission of two students into a college of their choice.
Key Highlights
Identified potential school dropouts and re-joined them into school and among 149 school going children’s 134 of them completed their academic year successfully, while 15 children dropped out due to their family situation, migration into deep forest area and health issues. Compared to previous academic year, there has been a significant improvement in school attendance.
Both academic performance and participation in extracurricular activities have significantly improved.
Support and involvement rate of children and their parents increased tremendously. Children and parents actively participated in all the events organized under education projects and schools.
School support also increased, and they give special attention to the tribal children’s education.
